EVO ICL Vision Correction in Houston

Not a candidate for LASIK? Maybe we can help.

What is EVO ICL?

What Makes EVO ICL Different?

Unlike traditional LASIK that reshapes the cornea, EVO ICL works by placing a biocompatible lens inside the eye, between the iris and your natural lens. This approach preserves your natural eye structure and is completely removable if your vision changes over time. EVO ICL is an excellent choice for patients who:

  • Are between 21 and 45 years old.
  • Have moderate to severe nearsightedness (myopia) with or without astigmatism.
  • Are not ideal candidates for LASIK due to thin corneas or dry eye concerns.
  • Want a reversible option for vision correction

Imagine a life free from glasses and contact lenses with EVO ICL.

Why Choose EVO ICL?

EVO ICL delivers numerous benefits compared to other vision correction procedures:

  •  Outstanding Visual Clarity: Corrects a wide range of nearsightedness and astigmatism with precision.
  • Minimally Invasive: Preserves the cornea and avoids permanent changes to your eye’s structure.
  • Reversible: The lens can be removed or upgraded if your vision needs change over time.
  • UV Protection: Built-in UV blockers protect your eyes from harmful rays.
  • Enhanced Night Vision: Patients often report clearer, sharper vision in low-light conditions.
  • No Dry Eye Worries: Ideal for individuals who experience dryness from contacts or are prone to dry eye syndrome.

How the EVO ICL Procedure Works

Before your EVO ICL procedure, you will first undergo a thorough consultation with your surgeon, Dr. Bhat. Afterwards, you will schedule your procedure. Finally, the EVO ICL procedure itself is simple and typically takes less than 30 minutes per eye:

  1. Pre-Procedure Testing: We use advanced diagnostic technology to map your eyes, ensuring the lens fits your unique anatomy perfectly.
  2. Procedure Day: The lens is gently inserted through a tiny incision, positioned behind the iris, and aligned for optimal correction. The procedure is virtually painless with numbing drops applied beforehand.
  3. Rapid Recovery: Most patients notice improved vision within hours and can resume daily activities within a day or two.
  4. Follow-Up Care: Regular check-ups ensure your eyes heal properly and your vision remains sharp.

Comparing EVO ICL to LASIK

While LASIK is an excellent option for many, EVO ICL offers unique advantages for those with specific needs:

  • Preserves the Cornea: Unlike LASIK, which reshapes the cornea, EVO ICL leaves your eye’s structure untouched.
  • Higher Range of Correction: Ideal for patients with severe nearsightedness beyond the limits of LASIK.
  • Reversibility: EVO ICL can be removed or replaced, giving you flexibility as your vision evolves.
  • Reduced Dry Eye Risk: A better option for those prone to dry eye symptoms.

Is EVO ICL Safe?

EVO ICL has earned its reputation as a safe and effective vision correction option for millions of patients worldwide. The procedure’s success is rooted in its minimally invasive nature and innovative design. Here are some reasons why EVO ICL is trusted by patients and surgeons alike:

  • Keep Your Natural Cornea: Unlike procedures that permanently alter the cornea, EVO ICL simply adds a lens to your eye without removing tissue, significantly reducing the risk of corneal complications.
  • Room for Adjustments: Rarely, there are undercorrections or overcorrections after any refractive surgery. However, since the EVO ICL procedure doesn’t alter the cornea, there is plenty of room to do a small corrective procedure like LASIK.
  • Proven Track Record: EVO ICL has been performed globally with consistently excellent safety outcomes and patient satisfaction rates.
  • Custom Fit for Your Eye: The extensive testing we do prior to surgery is to determine what size lens will be perfect for your eye. Our modern technology ensures that we achieve optimal safety and superior results.
  • Reversible Technology: The lens can be removed at any time if your vision needs change or if a rare issue occurs. However, most people won’t want to go back to the nearsightedness they had before they got their EVO ICL!
  • Biocompatible Material: The Collamer® lens material is designed to work harmoniously with your eye, minimizing irritation and providing UV protection.

At Modern Eye, we prioritize patient safety above all else. Our meticulous pre-operative testing, use of advanced technology, and skilled surgical team ensure that you can trust EVO ICL for your vision correction needs.
